How many students do you accept?

We will be accepting between 30 and 40 girls this coming year imy”H.

What type of girls are best suited for your program?

We are looking for girls who are genuinely interested in growing in every aspect of their lives, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We want girls who are committed to being present and making the most out of their year. There are standards in the seminary to ensure a growing and positive environment of highest level halacha. We expect girls to adhere to the rules and understand their significance. Learning is a large aspect of the program as well as experiential and discussion-based classes. Therefore, students should be curious, interested in developing their knowledge, and ready to ask questions.

How much is tuition?

3500 shekel non-refundable registration fee plus 80,000 shekel. Total 83,500 shekel.

There is also a $300 deposit - a $200 security deposit and a $50 cleanliness deposit - refunded at the end of the year if no damage occurs and the student’s room is clean upon leaving.

JSOI is accredited with Touro College. Financial aid can be available by applying to Touro (as well as to JSOI). It is recommended to apply to Touro as early as possible.

What does a day at The Jean Schottenstein Oryah Institute look like?

The day begins at 8:30 am with breakfast, followed by a Chassidus class and davening. We then have two to three, engaging classes followed by lunch break. The afternoon has 2 classes or workshops, then a break followed by dinner, followed by a night class.

There are two hours after night classes before curfew for optional extra-curricular programs.

Once a week there is Chavrusa learning where girls will challenge and grow with each other by learning various sefarim and working towards a chidon.

Highlights in the schedule is the art class where students learn an idea in Chassidus to express in an art form such as painting, poetry, song-writing, etc. The business development program teaches how to set up a business as well as skills in debating, public speaking, and advertising. The goal is to help girls develop a strong understanding of self, what their passions are, and how to express and share that with the world.

Sundays are spent on exciting trips around Israel or free time where girls can spend time exploring what Israel has to offer.
