Our Culture
Our students don’t just prepare for the future, they begin building it.
At JSOI, every aspect of our culture is geared towards our students’ personal, spiritual, and character development. We challenge each student to rise to her potential, embrace growth, and cultivate the courage to make an impact from where she stands, creating a culture of shluchos.
We foster a mindset of “What can I give?”—cultivating a sense of purpose, responsibility, and the drive to contribute. Each student is empowered to lead in her personal capacity, developing the skills to carry forward for a lifetime.

Shabbosim at JSOI
In Shabbosim take place within the seminary community and offer students the chance to connect with guest families in a warm, familial setting.
Our Shabbatons are immersive experiences where the entire seminary travels to various locations across Israel, allowing students to explore, bond, and grow spiritually. These include our annual Shabbos achdus, mother daughter Shabbaton, & visiting incredible locations like Netanya, Tzfat and Yerushalayim.
Off Shabbosim are to promote self-growth, discovery and learning beautiful values and traditions from the families and homes the students are hosted by.
Shabbosim at JSOI are thoughtfully designed to offer a range of enriching experiences, with the goal of deepening one’s appreciation for Shabbos.

Shabbos Achdus
Shabbos Achdus is a powerful and inspiring weekend where students invite girls from other seminaries as well as friends from different backgrounds to join together in celebrating the beauty of Shabbos through farbrengens, uplifting divrei Torah and meaningful connection.
Mother-Daughter Shabbaton
JSOI's Mother-Daughter Shabbaton is a heartfelt and uplifting weekend that invites mothers into the unique and inspiring world their daughters are building at seminary. Through singing niggunim, farbrengens, and engaging conversations mothers get a firsthand glimpse of the growth, friendships, and spiritual journey their daughters are experiencing and share in the inspiration themselves.
Committees & peer class
student-led committees empower girls to take charge of organizing events and programs throughout the year. Whether planning Yomim Tovim, Shabbatons, or unique themed activities, each committee gives students the opportunity to express their individual talents—whether in leadership, design, creativity, logistics, or public speaking. In addition, Peer Class gives girls the chance to prepare and deliver their own lessons to their classmates, allowing them to develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper connection to their learning. This hands-on involvement not only builds practical skills but also fosters a deep sense of ownership, pride, and personal investment in the seminary experience.

Farbrengens
Thursday night weekly farbrengens are a cherished tradition that bring students together for an evening of inspiration, connection, and deep learning. Typically, these gatherings feature a variety of speakers—often guest lecturers, faculty members, or community leaders—who address spiritual and personal growth.
Chessed
Our weekly Chessed program, held every Wednesday, is a cornerstone of the seminary's commitment to fostering compassion, community service, and personal growth in its students. The program is designed to give students an opportunity to engage in hands-on acts of kindness and charitable work, to truly be a chossid - central values in Chabad philosophy.
